The MKG is led by Professor A. Lindsay Greer.  The group is concerned mainly with metallic materials in states

far from equilibrium, such as can be obtained by rapid solidification or by thin-film deposition. Particular

interests are in metallic glasses, in thin-film multilayers, and in kinetic analysis (atomic diffusion and reactions).
